Vietnam striving to perfect the legal system

Justice Minister Ha Hung Cuong on September 12 received Mr. Motononi Tsuno- Chief representative of JICA Vietnam Office.
At the meeting, the Minister stressed that one of strategic breakthroughs of Vietnam in the next five years was to perfect the institution of the socialist-oriented market economy and by 2016 Vietnam determined to fulfill the amended constitution and to amend and suppplement 117 codes and laws, including laws as "pillars" of the legal system such as the Criminal Code, Civil Code (Amendment) ... By then, Vietnam hopes to basically complete its legal system.
Therefore, Vietnam and justice sector really need the cooperation and support of international friends, especially Japan through JICA. Mr. Motononi Tsuno affirmed that Japan appreciated the cooperation in the areas of law and justice with Vietnam. In the next five years, JICA committed to support the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam in legal activities, including the amendment of the Constitution and the Civil Code./.-ITD
