The Workshop was held with the participation of representatives of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Internal Affairs, the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform, the Ministry of Justice, Hanoi Law University, Faculty of Law – Hanoi National University and other agencies. Prof. Dr. Dao Tri Uc – Council’s President of the Institute of Public Policy and Law chaired the Workshop.

During the Workshop,  a number of presentations were delivered, including judicial integrity in the process of constructing and improving the rule-of-law State of Vietnam; Integrity in the operation of the law enforcement agencies: sharing some research results from a national integrity system of Vietnam; Integrity in the operation of lawyers: international standards and Vietnam; Judicial independence: the international legal framework and Vietnam; Court administration and ensuring the independence of judges in Vietnam; Integrity in the operation of the courts: sharing some research results from a national integrity system of Vietnam; Performance monitoring mechanisms of the judicial agencies in the world and in Vietnam, and Accessing to Justice,  from the perspective of legal aid.

Currently, Vietnam has participated in several treaties and international agreements to promote judicial independence: ASEAN Declaration of Human Rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the Beijing Declaration of Principles for Judicial independence. According to the international legal framework, judicial independence is a fundamental human right that all UN members must provide their citizens. An independent judiciary is fundamental to the prosperity of the national and international economy. In addition, citizens expect the judge to make his/her decision only basing on the facts and the law, but not under the  illegal influence.

In addition, in view of the Towards Transparency (TT), in order to ensure judicial integrity, transparency of judicial operations, accountability and discipline in the judiciary need to be imporved. Moreover, the fairness in the appointment of judges and the working conditions of the judiciary should be enhanced./.
