At the meeting, Minister Ha Hung Cuong praised the Hessen support for Vietnam in the implementation of judicial and legal reforms, saying it is a strong back-up for the development of a multi-faceted cooperation between Hessen State and Vietnam in the coming time. He also informed Mr Jörg-Uwe Hahn of the economic and social development in Vietnam as well as the central tasks and accomplishments achieved by Ministry of Justice in various fields such as: the work of personnel and organisation, human resource training, the legal building and implementation, the civil judgement enforcement…

For his part, Mr Jörg-Uwe Hahn thanked Minister Cuong for the warm welcome. He was also glad to come to Vietnam on the occasion of celebrating 1000 years of Thang Long- Hanoi. While exchanging views on professional knowledge, he shared German experiences in examining and reviewing the legal normative documents.

During the talk, both Ministers stated that Vietnamese Ministry of Justice and Hessian Ministry for Justice, Integration and Europe needed to strengthen the cooperation through building the annual detailed action plan to implement effectively the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of Justice. Apart from that, two sides also expressed the concern over the coming conference held in November of 2010 in Germany for Vietnamese students who had studied law in Germany.

In the working agenda, Minister Ha Hung Cuong and Mr Jörg-Uwe Hahn signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the fields of justice between Vietnamese Ministry of Justice and Hessian Ministry for Justice, Integration and Europe. This document officially acknowledged the two sides’ expectation to expand the cooperation in the fields of law and justice through the pledge to regularly exchange legal and judicial information and experiences; the future bilateral cooperation will mainly focus on the task of civil judgement enforcement and human resource training and forstering./. -ITD
