The Ministry of Justice held a press conference to inform about activities of the Justice sector in the first quarter of 2017

On 26 April 2017, the Ministry of Justice held a press conference to inform about activities of the Justice sector in the first quarter of 2017 with the participation of representatives of press agencies and Departments of the MOJ. Mr. Do Duc Hien, Chief Executive of the MOJ’s Office, Spokesman of the MOJ chaired the press conference.
In the first quarter of 2017, the Ministry of Justice implemented comprehensively key activities in all aspects, closely following the direction of by the Government and the Prime Minister, especially Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP dated 1 January 2017 of the Government on major tasks and solutions guiding and directing the implementation of the Socio-economic development plan and the State budget plan in 2017.
In terms of activity of legal normative document development, the Ministry of Justice has paid much more attention to this task as from the first months of 2017, according to Mr. Do Duc Hien. In the first quarter of 2017, the Ministry of Justice collaborated with other relevant agencies to submit 3 bills and 1 resolution to the NA for approval, and to submit 3 drafts of legal normative document to the Government and the Prime Minister. In addition, the Ministry of Justice has worked together with other agencies to implement the Law on Access to Information and the Law on Property Auction.
What is more, the Ministry of Justice has appraised 41 draft legal documents and 24 international treaties. The Ministry has also made comments on a large number of draft legal documents and international treaties. When it comes to post-review of legal normative documents, the MOJ examined 903 documents of the ministries, agencies and localities. Through the post-review, 16 documents which violated regulations on the examination and handling of legal documents were detected.
Regarding the field of civil judgment enforcement, this activity has been implemented in synchronized and comprehensive manner, reaching some outstanding results, following Directive No. 05/CT-TTg dated 6 February 2017 of the Prime Minister. Accordingly, in the first 6 months of 2017 (from 1 October 2016 to 31 March 2017), civil judgment enforcement agencies nationwide had to execute 578,515 cases, in which 435,752 had condition to enforce, with the rate of 75.32 per cent. Moreover, civil judgment enforcement agencies completely executed 225,116 cases, with the rate of 51.66 per cent. In addition, the task of professional guide and direction was also a good one. The civil judgment enforcement system has also paid much more attention to applying information technology and administration reform.
At the press conference, reporters asked many questions related to the fields under the state management scope of the Ministry of Justice, including the implementation of the Law on Property Auction, including an issue of nice vehicle plate number auction, and Decree No. 22/2017/ND-CP dated 24 February 2017 on commercial mediation. Other fields, such as civil judgment enforcement, civil status, state compensation, legal normative document developments and post-review of legal documents were also questioned. Leaders of relevant departments of the MOJ directly answered to those questions in a satisfactory manner, thereby helping reporters with more comprehensive and accurate look about the activities of the MOJ in the first quarter of 2017./.
