On January 11, 2012, Deputy Minister Hoang The Lien held a courtesy meeting with Mr. Rolf Timans, Head of Human Rights and Democratization Unit, Directorate-General for External Relations, European Commission.
On behalf of the Ministry of Justice, the Deputy Minister gave thanks to EU for their support through specific projects, which have contributed to promoting the legal and judicial reform in Vietnam. Talking about the comprehensive cooperation program between Vietnam - EU, including the legal and judicial cooperation, he said that bilateral negotiation has completed and the program would be soon signed and implemented.
Two sides also discussed the amendment of the 1992 Constitution, the Civil Code and the Penal Code of Vietnam, especially the contents relating to human rights and citizenship, as well as the relationship between national and international law./.-ITD
