Workshop on provisions for residents in the draft Capital Law

Justice Ministry and the Hanoi municipal People's Committee on July02 held the workshop on residential provisions in the draft Capital Law under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long with the attendance of many experts, scientists in the legal, planning and residential management fields.
Deputy Minister Le Thanh Long said that the most important orientation in the compilation of the Capital Law was to institutionalize the important contents of Resolution No.11 of the Politburo on construction and development of the Capital in the period 2011 - 2020, including the issuance of capital Law to build and develop Hanoi to match with "the capital for thousand years of civilization". Among the most important issues of capital’s management was the residential management.
At the workshop, legal experts agreed with the views of the draft Law stipulating that the conditions for permanent residential registration does not mean to limit freedoms of citizens' residence, whereas it is the administrative measures to ensure the balance between the interests of citizens and state management, as well as other rights of people living in the capital.
