Seminar "Amendments and additions to the Civil Code-2005" held

On 25 November 2010, Ministry of Justice organized "Amendments and additions to the Civil Code-2005" in Khanh Hoa province. Attending the seminar were about 100 representatives from various provincial Departments (the provincial Court, People’s Procuracy, Police department, Justice department, department of Natural Resources and Enviroment, provincial Lawyer Association and Bar Association).
During the seminar, lots of opinions and reports on the cumbersomeness and difficulties in practical application of the Civil Code were raised. The relating matters can be counted as: the civil contract ( the effect of the contract, dispute about the contract for property loan, the lending interest rate, ….), the inheritance ( oral testament, effect of joint testament of husband and wife, disclaimer of inheritance, initiating inheritance-related lawsuits, testament amendment,….) subjects of civil transactions as individuals and households, protection of the interest of a bona fide third party when a civil transaction is valid,…
Ministry of Justice also organized other similar seminars in Can Tho and Hai Phong provinces. The aim of the amendment and supplementation to the civil code-2005 was to build a complete Civil Code in the market economy./.-ITD
