Minister Le Thanh Long held a working session with the Department of Legal Dissemination and Education

On 19 August 2016, Minister Le Thanh Long held a working session with the Department of Legal Dissemination and Education on the activities of legal dissemination and education. Deputy Minister Phan Chi Hieu and heads of some units attached to the Ministry attended the working session.
According to Director of the Department Do Xuan Lan, compared with 2015, the workload of the Department was greatly increased. However, Mr. Lan committed to strive together with the whole Department and make great efforts to bring the work of the Department to new position, contributing to the international integration of the Ministry.
Representatives of units attached to the Ministry highly appreciated achievements of the Department recently. In addition, they frankly discussed some proposals in order to improve the effectiveness of the Department’s work in the time to come. For example, Deputy General Director of General Department of Civil Judgment Enforcement Nguyen Thanh Thuy recommended that the Department should pay more attention to disseminate civil and administrative judgment enforcement, especially private bailiff - a new judicial institution in Vietnam. What is more, Deputy Director of the Institute of Legal Sciences Nguyen Van Cuong proposed that the Department should have solutions to promote the role of village regulations and conventions which are closest to the people at grassroots level.
Deputy Minister Phan Chi Hieu affirmed that in the first 8 months of 2016, the Department implemented comprehensively key activities in all aspects under the scope of management of the Department. Moreover, the tasks of the Department were done with the ensuring of the quality and progress according to programs and plans, in which some activities have positive changes and reached high results.
Addressing the working session, Minister Le Thanh Long appreciated the efforts of the Department and its achievements. Basically, the Department has well performed the advisory function to the Minister in state management over legal dissemination and education; conciliation at grassroots level; law accessibility of communes, wards and towns; and development and implementation of village regulations and conventions. However, according to the Minister, in the coming time, the Department needs to choose the right focus and renovate its operation, meeting new requirements of the Ministry and the Justice sector./.
