Deputy Minister of Justice Dinh Trung Tung on June 14 had a talk with Ambassador Park Suk-hwan of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam on the issue of marriage between two national citizens.

In recent years, the cases of marriage between citizens of Vietnam and South Korea are increasing. Basically, these marriages meet the goals of the parties to build happiness and are done in compliance with the provisions of the law. On the other hand, Vietnamese – South Korean families also help create the diversity of family culture, contributing to the development of relations between the two countries. However, the increase of marriages between Vietnam’s females and S. Korea’s males recently have some unfair and negative manifestations, affecting the lives of Vietnamese – Korean families as well as the image of Vietnamese women and Vietnam in international relations.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Justice finds that it is the appropriate time for two parties to have effective cooperation through a friendly cooperation mechanism. Vietnam and South Korea should have formal cooperation in the legal field of marriage and family. While waiting for the formal agreement between two countries, the coordination in solving the problems of marriage and family between the two countries can be implemented through the Ministry of Justice./.-ITD
